After multiple leaks and hints, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has finally been announced – alongside the Modern Warfare remaster, no less.

As suspected, Infinite Warfare seems to take place in space. The usual “humanity is in peril” storyline seems to be in place, plus the trailer is accompanied by a pretty rad rendition of David Bowie’s ‘Ground Control to Major Tom’.

The tease of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has to be the highlight for me, personally, since I still regard that game as one of the series’ highest points. It will be interesting to see whether Infinite Warfare will actually change things up, or stay stuck to linear gameplay in a popcorn-eating, blockbuster environment.

In addition to the official announcement, Infinity Ward also recorded a behind-the-scenes video detailing the creation of their newest title.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will release on PC, Xbox One and PS4 on November 4th 2016. The game’s Legacy Edition will also include the Modern Warfare remaster.
