In what appears to be a perfect marriage, Marvel and Insomniac Games are pairing up to develop a Spider-Man game exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

This is huge news considering that Insomniac are responsible for the hugely enjoyable Ratchet & Clank games. Their penchant for injecting fun into their titles should mean that Spider-Man has finally found the best home for game development.

The trailer below is all captured from in-game footage.

It’s astounding to see such a high level of detail placed into New York City. Never before has there been such a dense amount of traffic and pedestrians filling the streets, the city truly feels alive.

Spider-Man PS4 – its working title – is set in a brand new universe crafted alongside Marvel themselves, presenting an original storyline and not connected to anything happening in the movies.

No date has been given, but you can probably expect Spider-Man to arrive exclusively on Sony’s platform in 2017.
