Having been at the forefront of the FPS genre with Killzone, Dutch developer Guerrilla Games are headed in an entirely new direction with their next game, Horizon: Zero Dawn.
The Earth has fallen victim to some sort of devastating occurrence, but instead of taking place before everything’s gone to pot, Zero Dawn looks set to tell the tale of humanity in this “post-post apocalyptic” new world.
Also, robot dinosaurs have seemingly taken over.
Armed with a bow and arrow, Horizon’s red headed lead, Aloy, almost seems like Lara Croft material. As part of a tribal society, her quest is to learn more about the world and why advanced machines rule its beautiful lands.
According to details on the PlayStation Blog, making use of natural materials and machine parts in the environment will help Aloy craft new weapons, tools, ammunition and traps.
Nothing more is known about the game at this point, but a 2016 release is expected.
