October 25th. That’s the day The Last Guardian finally emerges from stealth mode.

Sony unveiled more footage during its E3 press conference, which was followed by a roaring cheer from the audience.

Designed and directed by Fumito Ueda, the creator of Ico and Shadow of the Collossus, Last Guardian features a young boy who must traverse a sprawling fortress alongside the help of a hybrid bird-dog creature. Their connection seems an integral part of the story, and something tells me I shouldn’t become too attached to my feathered friend.

After nearly 9 years in development The Last Guardian nearly vanished for good, but with a little perseverance from Sony and some hounding from fans, the game is finally reaching completion.
