Metal Gear’s upcoming spin-off title, Metal Gear Survive, has been given a release date of February 22nd 2018.

‘Survive’ will mark the first fully-fledged Metal Gear title to be developed without its original creator, Hideo Kojima. The game takes place after the events of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and will pull players through a wormhole and into a dangerous world filled with biological threats. It’s also the first title in the series to focus on co-op gameplay.

Those who pre-order on either Xbox One, PS4 or PC will receive the ‘Survival Bonus Pack’ which will contain the following:

  • 4 Gold-plated weapons: Bat, Sledgehammer, Survival Machete and Survival Spear
  • 4 Metallic survival scarves: Green, Blue, Pink and Silver
  • 2 Gestures: “Thumbs Up” and “Happy”
  • Mother Base Nameplate
  • “BOXMAN [THE ORANGE]” accessory
  • “Kabuki” face paint

Whilst the thought of a non-Kojima MGS might sound a bit bizarre, we’ll have to wait until February to make an official judgement.
