Okay, I’ll admit it, I wasn’t expecting Rocksteady to return to Batman this quickly.

In one of the most surprising reveals of Sony’s E3 press conference, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Rocksteady unveiled an exclusive PlayStation VR Batman game – Batman: Arkham VR.

Having recently purchased a HTC Vive, I began to wonder how long it would be until I filled the shoes of a superhero. I guess I won’t have to wait that long, as Arkham VR is due out in October.

Game Director at Rocksteady Studios, Sefton Hill, had the following to say with regards to Arkham VR’s announcement:

“Rocksteady is always looking for new ways to further engross players into the worlds we create and Batman: Arkham VR is an example of how we’re taking advantage of the latest technology to do that. The team is committed to delivering a Batman experience that stays true to the character and allows players to fully immerse themselves in the role of the World’s Greatest Detective.”

Not much else is known at this point, but you can probably expect Arkham VR to be a rather small project in comparison to Rocksteady’s bigger Batman titles.

I guess that’s my PlayStation VR purchase locked down.
